Review: New Girl

Title: New Girl
Author: Paige Harbison
Published: January 31, 2012
Source: eGalley

Synopsis:
They call me 'New Girl'...

Ever since I arrived at exclusive, prestigious Manderly Academy, that’s who I am. New girl. Unknown. But not unnoticed—because of her.

Becca Normandy—that’s the name on everyone’s lips. The girl whose picture I see everywhere. The girl I can’t compare to. I mean, her going missing is the only reason a spot opened up for me at the academy. And everyone stares at me like it’s my fault.

Except for Max Holloway—the boy whose name shouldn’t be spoken. At least, not by me. Everyone thinks of him as Becca’s boyfriend but she’s gone, and here I am, replacing her. I wish it were that easy. Sometimes, when I think of Max, I can imagine how Becca’s life was so much better than mine could ever be.

And maybe she’s still out there, waiting to take it back.

Review:
New Girl will leave you entrapped in the story. It will make you feel so many different emotions at once that you don't know how to feel. The writing style of Paige Harbison is so amazing that it will leave you speechless till the very end.

Cover: Frankly I didn't get the cover at first. I thought this was a mermaid book and I was like "YES! Another mermaid book!" But then it turned out not to be, and I didn't mind! The cover is still gorgeous! :)

Plot: The plot was one intense turn after the other. It kept me guessing throughout the whole story, and when   I finally thought I got it, I was wrong. Which was nice. I hate books that are so predictable that it isn't even fun to read!

Characters:
MC because telling you her name would be a spoiler. It never really said her name until the last few pages. Which irked me. MC was smart, tough, and stood up for herself. Which was nice. She fought back, and didn't take the things people were screaming at her. She screamed back. Sure she doesn't like all the stuff being thrown at her, and she doesn't lay down and take it either.

Then there's Becca. I hated Becca with a burning fiery passion. For lack of a better word, she was a slut. And a psychopathic one at that. She was willing to do anything to get attention, even being a person she isnt. She did everything to get the attention thrown on her. She was conniving and didn't really think her actions through. Everything was for some type of attention.

All in all: I loved New Girl!! :) It was so unique and it was a refreshing change to all the stories out there lately! Go read it! :) 51 out of 51 tacos!
