Review: The Enchantress

Title: The Enchantress
Author: Michael Scott
Published: 4/22/12
Source: eGalley

Synopsis:
The two that are one must become the one that is all. One to save the world, one to destroy it.
San Francisco:
Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel have one day left to live, and one job left to do. They must defend San Francisco. The monsters gathered on Alcatraz Island have been released and are heading toward the city. If they are not stopped, they will destroy everyone and everything in their path.
But even with the help of two of the greatest warriors from history and myth, will the Sorceress and the legendary Alchemyst be able to defend the city? Or is it the beginning of the end of the human race?
Danu Talis:
Sophie and Josh Newman traveled ten thousand years into the past to Danu Talis when they followed Dr. John Dee and Virginia Dare. And it’s on this legendary island that the battle for the world begins and ends.
Scathach, Prometheus, Palamedes, Shakespeare, Saint-Germain, and Joan of Arc are also on the island. And no one is sure what—or who—the twins will be fighting for.
Today the battle for Danu Talis will be won or lost.
But will the twins of legend stand together?
Or will they stand apart—
one to save the world and one to destroy it?

Review:

I really enjoyed the enchantress. Michael Scott really ends his series with a bang, and he explains everything that needs to be explained. He makes the story end with finality and leaves without questions. Well, besides why did this have to end? I loved the Alchemist series from the start and it is sad to see the end of the series.

Cover:
The cover has the same look as the other matches the others. I like the changes they made to match and how the titles match what the main new person is.

Plot/Writing:
The story was very well written and intriguing. It answered a lot of your questions and it ended the series with a big bang. You didn’t see half of the stuff coming, and when it came it hit you right smack in the face. You were thrown into the story, just like you have been with all of the others. The books were amazing and the type you couldn’t put down.

Characters:
There are way too many characters to single out one. The Flamel's are still a major part of the series. Trying to protect Sophie and Josh, they will do anything for them. Even stop a hoard of monsters from attacking San Francisco. Sophie and Josh are thrown into a new world, one they don’t know and they take it in stride. The twins hold onto each other as a life line, and sacrifice everything they know for this mysterious world, and an even more mysterious prophecy.

Then there is the gang, Scathach, Prometheus, Palamedes, Shakespeare, Saint-Germain, Joan of Arc, and many other characters that have been mentioned throughout the series. It was nice to see all of the characters again, and to see how they evolved over the years.

All in All:
Wow. It was one heck of a way to end the series. I am sad to see them end, and well, this is one series that you should pick up! If you don’t, then that’s your loss. 4 out of 5 tacos!
