EXCERPT:
The music changed to something fast. Way too fast. The dancer in me watched the feet of the couples who obviously knew what they were doing. Two forward steps, two back, and then one, one, merengue. Okay, got it.
Quinn’s hand rested comfortably against my lower back, his fingers spreading wide enough to graze the top of my behind and hit the open back of my dress. Shivers trickled over my skin despite my sharp focus on the dance floor.
“You ready?” Quinn’s hot breath against my ear melted my insides. That was it. I was pure mush for this guy I hardly knew. Might as well enjoy it.
“Are you a good dancer?” I lifted my cheek toward his lips so that he could see the side of my face. A wave of boldness ripped over my bones. I was young. Single. Quinn was gorgeous, smart, and savvy. We could have a lot of fun together.
“So I’ve been told.” His lips brushed my face as he repeated the same words I’d heard in the garden.
With a smile and a new-found sense of confidence, I channeled my inner-Cass and pulled Quinn onto the dance floor. I heard him laughing behind me as we weaved in and out of the gyrating bodies. In just a few strides, Quinn had wrapped both hands around my hips, guiding us to an empty spot. If I was being honest with myself, I may have pushed back against him a little more than necessary, enjoying the hardness of his abs and the slightly possessive way he held on to me.
Once we found a space large enough for the two of us, I turned and wrapped my arms over his shoulders. His height required me to reach higher than I would have normally been able to, so I was extremely grateful for the high heels.
“Let’s do this,” Quinn said. With a quick snap of his hands, he yanked me even closer to him and began moving his hips. I stared into his eyes, feeling lost in an ocean of teals and turquoise. The beat soared through me, my hips lining up perfectly with his as we swayed.
At first, we didn’t move our feet, just enjoyed the feeling of each other’s bodies against each other. Quinn leaned forward far enough to rest his forehead against mine, neither of us taking our eyes off each other. The move was so…intimate, so personal, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t pulled away yet. Perhaps it was from the two shots of tequila and half a vodka martini. Or maybe it was because Quinn had this instant ability to make me feel safe and secure when I’d always experienced fear before.
As the beat got louder and the music began to ramp up for the final chorus, Quinn smiled down at me. “Okay, let’s go.”
Without another warning, he pulled me around the floor, blending with the rest of the couples. I worked on my foot placement, being careful to let him lead and not step on his feet at the same time. The music pulsed around me like a veil, blocking out all of my insecurities and allowing me to get lost in the moment. In no time at all, we were laughing and smiling and rubbing against each other in a way that might even make Cass blush.

Excerpt:

Hope shook her head. “You’re as much an idiot now as you were then.”
And then she kissed him.
It caught him a little off guard—he hadn’t expected her to be the one to make the first move, especially after the way the scene in the bathroom had gone down—but Daniel wasted no time taking control. He kissed down her neck, sliding his hands beneath her shirt and skating them up to her body to cup her breasts. They filled his palms, familiar and yet not, all at the same time. He cursed. “Gorgeous Darling, the things you do to me.” He nipped her collarbone. “I’m going to taste you, so if you’re going to change your mind, now’s the time to do it.”
Her only response was to shove her yoga pants down to her knees.
He lifted her onto the counter and disentangled her right leg from the pants so he could spread her fully. He stroked her thighs, pausing when his fingers met the scar. It brought up so many conflicting feelings in him. It was his fault that she had the damn thing, but that didn’t mean he thought of her as less, the way she seemed to think. She was as beautiful now as she’d been at eighteen, and more confident despite her injury. Or maybe because of it. He had no idea.
All he knew was that at some point he was going to have to get up close and personal with her healed injury, and he was going to have to tread very, very carefully to avoid burning what was left of the bridge between him and Hope.
“If you apologize, I might actually kick you.”
That snapped him out of it. As much as he wanted Hope, he had an ulterior motive for pushing her now. All getting distracted by her leg was going to do was fuck up his chance of convincing her to stay, in his house and in his bed. He jerked her to the edge of the counter, spreading her thighs wider. “Don’t scream. You’ll upset Ollie.”
And then he did what he’d been fantasizing about ever since he walked out of her life. Daniel dipped his head and gave her center one long lick. She tasted better than he remembered, her body already shaking for him, so he used his thumbs to part her folds and licked her again, reacquainting himself with every inch of her.
“Oh.”
He looked up her body to find her head thrown back and her chest rising and falling with each harsh breath. “Take off your shirt.”
Hope wasted no time obeying, dragging the material over her head and tossing it away. And then there was nothing hiding her body from his gaze. He licked her again, savoring the way she shook. A tattoo curling around the bottom of her ribs caught his eye, but he was too distracted to read it.
He was tired of teasing her. He wanted to feel her orgasm again, to know she was coming apart at the seams because of him. Daniel sucked her clit into his mouth, stroking the sensitive little nub with the flat of his tongue the way she’d always loved. Sure enough, before he had a chance to truly savor her, Hope cried out his name and shuddered, her thighs squeezing his head as she came. He gentled his touches, licks turning to kisses, turning to the slightest brushing of his lips against her. Only when she stopped shaking did he raise his head. “Stay, at least until we figure out what we’re doing.”

My Review:

Fool For You is the final book in the Foolproof Love series by Katee Robert and it did not disappoint.
I found myself flying through this book. It was such a quick, easy read that I was done with it in about three hours. Granted, two of those hours were after midnight and I needed to finish this book so I could stop thinking about it and sleep!
The book jumped right into the action. There was not much time in between the first page and the first steamy scene, which I am not complaining about at all. The only thing about the book that bothered me was that it seemed to be rushing along and developing the story. But, this also made for a quick read that I didn’t have to think much into and just zoom along in reading.

I definitely enjoyed Fool For You even though it was so short. It was the perfect end to the series and I cannot wait to see what Katee Robert has in store for us next!

Cover Reveal: One Summer with Autumn

One Summer with Autumn
Julie Reece
Published by: Swoon Romance
Publication date: October 11th 2016
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult
Seventeen-year-old Autumn Teslow arrives at her father’s job fair knowing she’ll never measure up to the perfect image of daddy’s little girl—her twin sister.
Wearing anger management issues like a second skin won’t help Autumn win her dad’s approval for the big trip she’s been planning—or meet his condition that she successfully complete a summer internship for college.
Autumn’s cool unravels when her sister lectures against disappointing the family again. And when a young, bearded guy steps through the crowd to settle the growing argument between siblings, Autumn lashes out, dubbing him a “Duck Dynasty wannabe.”
At Nineteen, Caden Behr is clueless as to why his man parts are threatened by the fearsome girl before him. He’d only come to find an intern for his recreational equipment company, not break up a girl-fight between two sisters.
Unfortunately, the only candidate left is the girl who just told him off. Without her, he’ll never prove to his CEO mother that he’s ready for more responsibility.
Autumn and Caden agree that if they can keep from killing one another, they can use one another to get what they want and then never have to see each other again. Which is what they want.
Until it isn’t.
Because despite her best efforts to scare him off, and his fading desire to push her into the lake, they’re beginning to enjoy the time they spend together. But pride is a hard habit to break. And if neither will admit their changing feelings, they could lose a whole lot more than one summer.

Author Bio:
As a child, Julie’s summers were about horseback riding and fishing, while winter brought sledding and ice-skating on frozen ponds. Most of life was magical, but not all. She struggled with multiple learning disabilities, and spent much of her time gazing out windows and daydreaming. In the fourth grade (with the help of one very nice teacher) she fought dyslexia for her right to read and won.
Afterward, she invented stories where powerful heroines kicked bad-guy butt to win the hearts charismatic heroes. And then she wrote one down…
Writing ever since, Julie weaves southern gothic, contemporary, fantasy, and young adult romances. She enjoys sweeping tales of mystery and epic adventure… which must include a really hot guy. Her writing is proof a dream and some hard work can overcome any obstacle.

Book Blitz: French Fries with a Side of Guys

French Fries With A Side of Guys
Rebekah L. Purdy
Published by: Swoon Romance
Publication date: September 14th 2016
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult
Payton Carter is one of six kids (all of which are named after famous football players), not to mention the only girl in the Carter household. With this much testosterone and no mother, it’s no wonder she’s absolutely clueless when it comes to makeup, dances, and talking to guys she’s crushing on. And now she’s about ready to start her freshman year of high school, which is nerve wrenching enough, but when she ends up running into her crush, Chance Montgomery, at her dad’s sports restaurant, she finds out that the quarterback for their rival team is moving to Aller Falls. This is nothing short of fate.
Payton realizes she has to find a way to impress Chance and get him to ask her out or at least know she’s interested in him—preferably without dropping a plateful of fries on his head, like she did last time. After taking her two oldest brothers’ advice, she decides to go out for the freshman football team, figuring that between practices and games she and her crush will surely be able to talk. And maybe talking will lead to something more permanent or at least to a first kiss. Only this plan backfires in ways she never imagined, when she beats Chance Montgomery out of the starting quarterback position. Now not only does she make him the laughing stock of the team, but also has to figure out how to avoid the snotty cheerleaders, a traitor best friend, not to mention winning games for her team. Too bad this is just the beginning of her freshman year.

Excerpt:

“Hey, would you mind taking that back table for me?” Marino gestured to two teenage guys in a booth.

“Uhh … sure.” She shrugged, grabbing a stack of menus and some clean silverware. But as she got closer, Payton nearly stopped in place, recognizing the familiar
faces of the star quarterbacks from Lawson High’s JV and freshman teams. Their rival school. Her breath caught in her throat. There, no more than five feet in front of her,
was Chance Montgomery. Her pulse pounded like horse hooves on cement. The Chance Montgomery—who’d filled every fantasy vision she’d ever had—was sitting in
her dad’s restaurant, looking gorgeous. He was the same age she was and had been in the newspaper a couple times as an upcoming star. In eighth grade he’d already had
the high school coaches scouting him, dreaming of the day he’d step up and lead their teams to victory.

Chance Montgomery was the only boy she’d ever considered as full-on dating material. Not that she thought for one second he’d go for her. But hey, a girl could dream. And
if you were gonna dream, you might as well go all out. Payton tried not to stare at his ivy-colored eyes, or the way his brown hair curled up at the nape of his neck.
She even attempted not to follow the line of his arm muscles to what looked like strong hands. Payton sucked in a deep breath. Okay. She could totally do this. Just smile.
Nervousness took over, and her legs felt as if they were locking. Her mouth suddenly seemed dry, like she had a wad of cotton balls stuffed in her cheeks.

“Hi, welcome to Carter’s Sports House—can I start you off with a drink?” she rattled off, barely remembering to smile, while her hands quaked with the simple effort of holding a pen. She was holding a pen, wasn’t she? She peered down to make sure.

“Lemonade,” Chance answered, giving her one of his winning, knock-’em-dead grins.
It was like a powerful punch to the gut, and she wanted to fall over from the impact.

Damn. Someone should put a warning label on this boy’s mouth. God. She
needed to quit staring at his lips. Which, from where she was standing, looked pretty kissable. Not that she had any experience in that area, but she sure wouldn’t mind
getting some if it involved him. After taking his brother’s drink order, too, she went off to fill them.

“Do you guys know who that is?” She glared at Bradshaw, trying to fathom how her brothers could possibly make her wait on them.

“Yep, the Montgomery brothers. Wonder if they’re trying to scout out the competition?” he teased. “Try and find out, would ya?”

Review: Defending Taylor

Defending TaylorTitle: Defending Taylor
Author: Miranda Keneally
Released: July 5, 2016

Synopsis:
There are no mistakes in love.
Captain of the soccer team, president of the Debate Club, contender for valedictorian: Taylor's always pushed herself to be perfect. After all, that's what is expected of a senator's daughter. But one impulsive decision-one lie to cover for her boyfriend-and Taylor's kicked out of private school. Everything she's worked so hard for is gone, and now she's starting over at Hundred Oaks High.
Soccer has always been Taylor's escape from the pressures of school and family, but it's hard to fit in and play on a team that used to be her rival. The only person who seems to understand all that she's going through is her older brother's best friend, Ezra. Taylor's had a crush on him for as long as she can remember. But it's hard to trust after having been betrayed. Will Taylor repeat her past mistakes or can she score a fresh start?

My Review:
The Queen of Contemporary (at least in my world) has done it again. She hit another one out of the park with Defending Taylor. Yes, I realize this was a book about soccer, but I mainly know baseball, not soccer. I read Defending Taylor in about 3 hours because I couldn’t put this freaking book down. It was that good. I haven’t really been in a contemporary mood for the past couple of months, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying Defending Taylor.
It took me no time to get immersed into Defending Taylor. Probably about like 10 pages. I just wanted to keep reading and reading it that badly.
The thing that I love the most about Miranda’s books are that even though they are in the same world, none of them are the same. Each character that she creates are different and have incredibly different problems from each other. But all of her characters have a humorous touch to them that I love. Some of the scenes in this book, and all her books, have me dying of laughter.
Taylor was a little bit annoying. I loved her dedication to working hard, getting good grades, and not using her dads name to get her everywhere in life, but she was a little stubborn and clueless with what she wanted in life. She was so dependent on what her parents wanted and expected her to do that she didn’t even know what she wanted. She also was shunned for making one mistake, but instead of telling her parents the truth, she kept it a secret and of course it blew up on her. (That’s not really a spoiler if you know anything about keeping secrets in a YA book or any book for that matter). I liked her more as the book progressed, but she still annoyed me at the beginning
Ezra was awesome. Of course he had his secrets, but he wasn’t afraid to share them, like someone. *cough* Taylor *cough*. He also was just a good guy. He did the right thing and he stood up for what he believed in. Though, he was a little scared of one thing that I wanted him to man up and deal with, but when you have the parents he did, that’s kind of hard.
Defending Taylor is the perfect summer read. Unless you’re not excited about going back to school, then don’t read this yet because it is focused on the school year. But, that’s okay as long as you read it! It is worth every second you put into reading it. It is great.

EXCERPT:
He threw the gear in park, cut the engine and opened his door. The cab filled with the sound of cicadas and I glanced around in a panic. Before I could think what to do, my door opened and he undid my seat belt.
“Get out.” His features were more austere than in the warehouse.
I trembled. “No.”
“Not a request.”
Viking was alpha, all alpha. He commanded everything but he’d never forced me to do anything. Anxiety licked at my conscience but I swung my legs out of the truck because showing fear was worse than defeat.
My feet hit the ground and I looked up at him with every ounce of defiance I had. “Now what?”
His shoulders dropped, he leaned toward me and his body language went from tensed restraint to liquid seduction in half a second. “Look up,” he gently commanded.
Was this a trick? Was he only pretending to not be mad? Reluctant to take my eyes off him, I glanced at the dark sky. “What about it?”
“What do you see?”
I swallowed past the tightness in my throat. “Night.”
“The moon and stars,” his low, quiet voice corrected.
I didn’t like this. Him gentle, making me look at the stars, this wasn’t the man who’d killed to save my life. “So?”
Huge, warm fingers wrapped around the back of my neck. “The same moon that was there last night.” He moved closer. “The same stars that will be there tomorrow night.”
His body heat curled around me like everything I’d ever wanted and I pushed back. “Is this some kind of proverb?”
“Same as the night sky, I was there yesterday and I will be there tomorrow.”
My throat closed up, my chest tightened and I fought tears. It was the single most beautiful thing anyone had ever said to me. And it was a complete lie.

EXCERPT:
My entire body ached the moment I tried to move, so I stopped trying. I groaned and peeled an eye open, trying to understand why this morning felt so different from all the others.
When I saw the matching sets of green eyeballs peering over the ladder, one glaring and one questioning, I wanted to scream, but the air in my throat went the other direction. I gasped and propelled myself backward into the furthest corner of the alcove.
“Do you think she’s homeless?” asked Eyeballs Number One.
Eyeballs Number Two shook his head as he scanned my body. “Maybe she ran away from home.”
“Yeah, or maybe she’s a troll that lives in the woods. Are we supposed to feed her?”
“I didn’t bring any food. Did you?”
One of the boys threw his eyes around the room, as if afraid to look away from me for long. “No. We should tell dad we need a fridge.”
“And how will we keep it cold, moron?”
“Hey! I’m not a moron!”
While the boys fought, I managed to creep forward until I gripped the edge of the bed with every intention to slip down undetected.
But Eyeballs Number One saw me and placed an arm out across the other boy’s body. “Shh. She’s moving.”
My grogginess cleared, replaced by a rush of adrenaline as I stared back at the twin boys—the boys whose treehouse I’d snuck into the night before. At this realization, I straightened with a jolt. “I-I have to get home.” Panic seized my chest knowing my parents would be frantic looking for me.
Eyeballs Number Two nudged the other. “She has a home, bro.”
I bit my lip to hide my smile, happy they no longer considered me a possible troll. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to—” I didn’t know why I was about to lie, so I stopped myself. I totally meant to fall asleep there. I just didn’t mean to get caught.
“Wait!” one of them called as I headed for the ladder. I turned to see the curious one staring back at me with a sincere expression. “Are you okay?”
All I could do was nod. How could I tell two boys I didn’t know the reason for invading their sanctuary—that I had been watching them for weeks, envious of their home in the woods? Instead of saying another word, I found the ladder and moved down it, missing the last few steps in my haste. The moment I hit the ground, I accepted the impact with a grimace and took off at a sprint through the woods and toward my bedroom window. I climbed inside just as I heard my mom calling me for breakfast.

Author Bio:
I grew up in Northern California with my head in a book and my feet in the sand. I dreamt of becoming a painter but the heady scent of libraries with their shelves full of books drew me into the world of storytelling. I love the New Adult genre, but any story about a love so desperately wrong and impossibly beautiful makes me swoon.
I now live in Southern Florida and while I don’t get to read as much as I like, I still bury my toes in the sand. If I’m not writing or fighting to contain the banana plantation in my backyard, you can find me spending time with my handsomely tattooed husband, my brilliantly practical son and a mischievous miniature boxer…
But Seriously?
Here are ten things you probably really want to know about me.
I grew up a faculty brat. I can swear like a sailor. I love men in uniform. I hate being told what to do. I can do your taxes (but don’t ask). The Bird Market in Hong Kong freaks me out. My favorite word is desperate…or dirty, or both—I can’t decide. I have a thing for muscle cars. But never reply on me for driving directions, ever. And I have a new book boyfriend every week—don’t tell my husband.
