Synopsis:
Finding your eternal soulmate - easy.
Stopping a true-love-hungry evil - not so much…
After breaking a centuries-old romantic curse, Emma Connor is (almost) glad to get back to normal problems. Although...it's not easy dealing with the jealous cliques and gossip that rule her exclusive Upper East Side prep, even for a sixteen-year-old newbie witch. Having the most-wanted boy in school as her eternal soul mate sure helps ease the pain-especially since wealthy, rocker-hot Brendan Salinger is very good at staying irresistibly close....
But something dark and hungry is using Emma and Brendan's deepest fears to reveal damaging secrets and destroy their trust in each other. And Emma's crash course in über-spells may not be enough to keep them safe…or to stop an inhuman force bent on making their unsuspected power its own.
Review:
Spellcaster will leave you sighing in happiness. It is one of those books that you don't put down for fear of missing something! I loved Spellcaster, and it is defiantly worth the wait!
Cover:
Gorgeous. Just gorgeous. It matched the other cover with the glass floating around, except this one has leaves. Which I currently have underneath my comma key. I love how the girl is running away and how everything is following her! Just gorgeous!
Plot/Writing:
As with Spellbound, the writing style is amazing! It keeps you focused and wanting more. It has just the right twist and turns in the story to leave you guessing. The story has some very intense moments and some moments that you just sit there saying awwwww for five minutes. I know when I finished it that is what I did.. :)
Characters:
The characters of Spellcaster have all grown up so much. They are all stronger, and braver. They will do whatever they need to do, and they will go the extra mile for each other. There is sacrifice, and love, and of course happy moments!
Emma is much much stronger than she was in the last book. In the last book, at least to me, she seemed a little weak, but of course she went through a traumatic time and it was a big deal. Yet she grew in this book. She was willing to do anything for Brendan and for her friends and family.
Brendan is the same as he was in the last book, yet different. He was a lot more bold, he finally told off someone we all wanted to be told off. But he was also a lot more sensitive, he revealed his feelings for Emma and told her things that anyone would take away their bro-card for saying. But it wasn't cheesey things, it was sweet, and I REALLY want Brendan. :)
All in All:
I really loved Spellcaster! I was cheering at the end, and awing so much. It was an amazing way to end the book, and I can't wait to see what Cara does next! :) 5 out of 5 Tacos!
