WOW: 10/10/12

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine! It showcases books that we can't wait on to come out!
This week I am waiting on Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans.
Since her untimely death the day before her eighteenth birthday, Felicia Ward has been trapped in Level 2, a stark white afterlife located between our world and the next. Along with her fellow prisoners, Felicia passes the endless hours downloading memories and mourning what she’s lost—family, friends, and the boy she loved, Neil.
Then a girl in a neighboring chamber disappears, and nobody but Felicia seems to recall she existed in the first place. Something is obviously very wrong. When Julian—a dangerously charming guy Felicia knew in life—comes to offer Felicia a way out, she learns the truth: a rebellion is brewing to overthrow the Morati, the guardians of Level 2.
Felicia is reluctant to trust Julian, but then he promises what she wants the most—to be with Neil again—if only she’ll join the rebels. Suspended between Heaven and Earth, Felicia finds herself in the center of an age-old struggle between good and evil. As memories from her life come back to haunt her, and as the Morati hunt her down, Felicia will discover it’s not just her own redemption at stake… but the salvation of all mankind.
Level 2 is released on January 15, 2013.

'You looked like you might need some help.'

"'What if he doesn't come back?'
'Some things do, somethings don't,' he said, reaching over to tweak her nose. 'I'll always come back to you anyway.'
'You don't light up,' Haydley pointed out, but Dad only smiled.
'I do when I'm with you.'"

Crash blog tour + Giveaway!

Hey guys! Today I have Nicole Williams here with a guest post on her amazing book Crash! :) Enjoy!

How was your writing and publishing process for Clash different from Crash, seeing that Clash was released about two months after Crash? And seeing that there was no intention for a book two when Crash was released?

I spent almost a year going back and forth on Crash but with Clash, the story poured out of me. I couldn’t type fast enough. Once I committed to writing a second book in the series, I buckled down and got it done. I woke up a couple hours before the kiddo woke up, stayed up a couple hours after bedtime, and snuck in an hour or two during naptime. I was utterly drained when it was done, but I loved the story and I hoped the readers would too. After that, my editor, cover designer, and book formatter were wonderful. They worked as fast as they could to get Clash ready for publication and, when all was said and done, Clash went live a couple of weeks before my goal even.

About Crash:

Southpointe High is the last place Lucy wanted to wind up her senior year of school. Right up until she stumbles into Jude Ryder, a guy whose name has become its own verb, and synonymous with trouble. He's got a rap sheet that runs longer than a senior thesis, has had his name sighed, shouted, and cursed by more women than Lucy dares to ask, and lives at the local boys home where disturbed seems to be the status quo for the residents. Lucy had a stable at best, quirky at worst, upbringing. She lives for wearing the satin down on her ballet shoes, has her sights set on Juilliard, and has been careful to keep trouble out of her life. Up until now.

Jude's everything she needs to stay away from if she wants to separate her past from her future. Staying away, she's about to find out, is the only thing she's incapable of.

For Lucy Larson and Jude Ryder, love's about to become the thing that tears them apart.

More About the Author:

I'm a wife, a mom, a writer. I started writing because I loved it and I'm still writing because I love it. I write young adult because I still believe in true love, kindred spirits, and happy endings. Here's to staying young at heart *raises champagne glass* . . . care to join me?
